Porrostoma rufipennis – a variably coloured species that has been described under many species names. The Tasmanian forms, described under ‘haemorrhoidale‘, are usually black with the apex of the wings red. Pseudolycus haemorrhoidalis (Oedemeridae) is a very good mimic of this colour form.
