These adults are usually colourful with with a metallic sheen. On mainland Australia the adults are referred to as Christmas Beetles. Some adults feed on Eucalyptus leaves and the larvae feed underground on roots. Most Australian species occur near the coast. Few have been found in dry regions. Tasmania has 6 listed species from two genera.
