Enervia cribrata is notable for the head, pronotum and elytra being densely packed with noticeable punctures, excepting the median surface of the pronotum where here it is devoid of such punctures and quite smooth. The pronotum is narrowed behind and laterally sinuate. The colour of the body is usually largely blackish with the legs and antennae reddish and the last abdominal segment can be obscurely reddish. On the mainland this species can have the pronotum paler, or both the pronotum and elytra paler. Bodylength 6.5 to 6.8mm.
