Chrysomya varipes

Chrysomya varipes – this is a small species (4.0-6.5mm) with bicoloured legs. The males in this species have the eyes strongly separated and also have the fore femora characteristically adorned dorsally with dense erect white hairs. This species is widespread on the mainland, but has not been officially recorded in Tasmania.
