Tricimba spp. lack a polished ocellar triangle and, more notably, have three or five longitudinal grooves dorsally on the thorax. Dorsal thoracic grooves are also present in Pseudotricimba and Aprometopis, both genera having one Australian described species whose distribution is restricted to northern Queensland.
