Rhis popeae – has antennae inserted at mid-eye height, the frons does not noticeably extend forward beyond eyes, and face normal in profile (ie not receding as seen in Rhis whitleyi), thorax moderately sized (ie not noticeably wider than head), only one pair of dorsocentrals present (prescutellar pair), scutellum subtriangular, and mesonotum with ground setulae arranged in longitudinal series medially.
