Poecilohetaerus aquilus

Poecilohetaerus aquilus – most similar to P. schineri, both being rather dark and with an additional light fawn medial stripe on their ‘back’. However P. aquilus has a much darker frons (‘forehead’) with the middle orange stripe leading up to the ocelli being much thinner and terminating at the ocelli whereas in P. schineri it’s much wider and continues up around the ocelli. Also the hind tibiae in the former is light brown along it’s length but in the latter it is banded blackish in the last third. Bodylength approx. 3.5mm.
