The presence of a subapical band connecting to the apical spot on the wings distinguishes the Rivellia here from all currently recognised Australian species. Additional wing marks includes two strong bands over the crossveins and a weaker mark on the basal half of the costal cell and the cell below to the bifurcation of R2+3 and r4+5. The femora are generally browned medially, the tibiae pale yellowish-brown.
