Daptolestes limbipennis

Daptolestes limbipennis has wings marked on the foreborder, the mystax bristles (‘moustache’) white, and the basal half of all tibiae yellow. For Tasmania, D. bronteflavus is most similar but differs principally by the mystax being black. For the Australian mainland, D. nicholsoni agrees with the characters aforementioned for D. limbipennis but can be distinguished by the thoracic scutum being much lighter/reddish overall in colour, with the dark marking restricted to isolated central and side spots.
