Tasmania has two Aleucosia species: A. atherix and A. calophthalma. They are similar though the former has wing cell br entirely brown whereas this cell has a large hyaline spot in the latter. A. atherix also has the apical third of the scutellum shiny black. Both species are highly variable in terms of size, with the largest representatives around twice the size of the smallest.
