Ischnotoma prionoceroides and I. terminata are notable for having both head and thorax hairy above. They both look very similar sharing also wings without brown marbling and a dark abdomen without banding. I. terminata differs by the scutum lateral dark stripes being indistinctly separated from the medial dark stripe, however the male of this species is not known.
