Phellopsylla and Phyllolyma spp. are very similar looking, sharing the wide head, eyes that slant backwards laterally, strap-like genal processes (ie very short), forward pad-like process between bases of antennae and eyes, rhomboid fore wings with M+Cu stem longer than Cu stem. The two genera are separated on length of antennae, the former having the antennae at least as long as the width of the head (typically much longer), whereas in the latter the antennae is distinctly shorter.
