Information thanks to Peter McQuillan “An attractive endemic tiger moth; locally common since the females are flightless and larvae tend to be colonial. Males fly by day but are hard to spot. There are two species described from Tasmania but they might just be the extremes of a cline, with mountain forms darker. A favoured foodplant is alpine herbs and especially herbaceous daisies. Larvae will also eat dandelions.”
